Min/maxers will want one subforum to go to, and not need to check every class. I only saw 2 topics that were remotely similar to min/maxing and this was the most likely candidate. If you want to have a place to discuss tips and tricks for DMs I fear that your voice might get dwarfed by the hoard of minmaxers finding their way here arguing about warcaster and minor illusion.
"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

What exactly was confusing to you? basically I'm saying that Character Optimization is a very large group. I predict many min/maxers are going to come to this forum and expect a place where they can discuss optimization. If there aren't signs directing this traffic then don't be surprised if they come to this topic and fill it with optimization threads. Asking them to take their wizard 2/rogue 3/fighter 2/mystic 10 build and find the appropriate class topic won't do, nor would, if you ask me, a subforum labeled "multiclass." While it is a multiclass they are making, their interest isn't in multiclassing, but rather min-maxing. I feel a dedicated topic to multiclassing would not attract the large swath of players looking to eek out some more damage.
I was commenting on the creator's post...lol But thank you for the information about min/max. I didn't really understand what that meant and now I have a better understanding. I usually stick to the gaming format in the PHB, I am still new at 5E and running Storm King's Thunder with that format as well.

I don't personally believe in doing that with my characters, but Min/Max doesn't bother me if others choose to do it. What bothers me is when someone min/max's a character with no intention of contributing to the group until their specific maxed-out rolls are needed.
You should listen to Total Party Thrill's Specialist episode. I have two people I dm for who don't really contribute much, they are happy to just be there until they need to fulfill their duty of either healing(the cleric) or smashing(barb). It's just how they play and have played previously; you really can't hold the way other people want to play against them. If it's disruptive or inappropriate then sure, otherwise you're just going to have to accept that their style of play doesn't jive with you. Learn to work with them and all that.
Asking for character optimization tips seems like it'd fit pretty well in the Tips & Tricks forum. I'm not entirely sure why we have per-class forums, as it seems like it'd just fragment the community a lot more than needed.
nah man if it hits the fan that's on their RP portrayal of their PCs. I don't hold it against the metal-head who just wants to play a 1/2 ork barbarian who smashes(this means two things) anyone within reach of his maul; he's just been playing Bork the Half- Ork since he was like 14 and that's how he gets his kicks*in-game often literally. http://www.totalpartythrillcast.com/
I wouldn't mind a dedicated char-op board, I worry that having a char-op/rp board will result in a lot more people coming in to crusade against people optimizing- it's kinda what happens on other communities, especially reddit, when someone posts a char-op thread.

No. Nerd.
(Editing to not look like a jerk - remdawg is my husband and favorite trolling target)
If you have and builds you want to upload, you should probably upload them to their respective class sections in the the forums
Hell yeah I am going to Polymorph the boss into a Rabbit. I have always wanted a being a pure evil stuffed into a ball of fluff.
I posted in the feedback section asking for a multiclassing section in the classes topic.

Um...what? lol

I've seen some min/maxing going on in the individual class forums, but this could probably be a good place for it too.
