Rilly June is Missing! Heroes Needed at Rillard Family Farm

Something strange is growing in the farmlands of Greyhawkins. Crops have withered, livestock have vanished, and a halfling girl named Rilly June has gone missing!

In Scream of the Crop, an adventure for level 2 characters from Stranger Things: Welcome to the Hellfire Club, you'll step into the shoes of the heroes created by Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and the rest of the gang as they take on Eddie Munson's final, unfinished Dungeons & Dragons campaign.

Read on to choose your own introduction to this adventure!

A Call for Heroes

You stumble across a missing poster while at one of Greyhawkins' many taverns. Hammered into the notice board, you see a piece of parchment, creased and torn at the edges. A charcoal sketch shows a young halfling clutching a pitchfork, eyes sharp beneath the brim of a straw hat. The words are plain:

MISSING. 19 years of age. Brown eyes. Curly black hair. Last seen at Rillard Family Farm. Contact Rillard Sr. with any information. REWARD.”

What Do You Do?

1. Explore What You Remember About the Farm

You recall something odd you saw on your walk into the tavern: patches of corn and pumpkins along the roadside looked withered, the soil cracked as though life itself was draining away.

You need to find out what this strange disease is and if it has something to do with the missing girl.

2. Gather More Information

You overhear two patrons at the bar talking in lowered voices, grasping their mugs of ale. One tells the other that the Rillard Family Farm has been hit hard by a strange blight and that livestock have gone missing in the dead of night.

The other shakes his head and responds, "I hope ol' Rillard Senior finds his daughter soon."

It appears that this farmer is in dire need of the kind of help that only an adventurer can offer—an adventurer like you.

3. Go Back to Your Drink

After your thirst is quenched, you reach into your coin purse and realize it's empty! The tavern's laughter suddenly feels a little hollow, the bard's song a little less sweet. Your eyes drift back to the bold word “Reward” on the missing poster.

Maybe this is your problem after all.

The Road to Adventure

You set back out on the road toward another adventure, trudging along the dirt roads of southern Greyhawkins to the farming community of Goldenwheat—home of the Rillard Family Farm.

How Do You Spend Your Travel Time?

1. Examining the Plants Around You

Though the rolling hills of Goldenwheat are still some distance away, you stoop to pick up a leaf on the path. The leaf sports wilted gray corners. The blight is spreading.

2. Keeping a Sharp Eye Out

The tree-lined path doesn't offer much line of sight into your surroundings. You hear sudden movement and a breaking twig behind you. As you whip around, you see movement. Was it a piece of tattered cloak? Or the outline of a crouched creature?

Either way, it's gone now.

3. Whistling a Jaunty Tune

Trying to liven up a quiet journey, you whistle a couple of verses of your favorite traveling song. As your song comes to an end, the surrounding area seems even quieter—no birds sing back to you, only the wind whistles through the trees.
