As a sell-sword, who has traveled far and wide as a sell-sword and fought battles for coin, you're well acquainted with risking life and limb for a chance at a share of treasure. Now, you look forward to fighting foes and reaping even greater rewards as an adventurer. Your experience makes you familiar with the ins and outs of mercenary life, and you likely have harrowing stories of events on the battlefield.You might have served with a large outfit such as the Brotherhood of Blood, or a smaller band of sell-swords, maybe even more than one.

 

Who have sold their service in combat for years. In battle, you're bold, but not stupid(maybe a little); violent, but not cruel. You have done many jobs murder, assassinations, protection, soldier,  Those of them who have witnessed numerous Battlefields and survived -sometimes with your team but mostly alone-, they are known by many different names, Ghosts of The Battlefield, Echoes of War, Lone Survivors however they are most widely known as The Wanderers of Underworld.

 

An old Wanderer, now you're looking for something else, perhaps greater reward for the risks you take, or the freedom to choose your own activities. For whatever reason, you're leaving behind the life of a soldier for hire, but your skills are undeniably suited for battle, so now you fight on in a different way.

  • Because of your constant struggle to survive on the battlefield and dodging various dangers gains proficiency on dex saving throws.
  • Choose three skills to obtain proficiency.

Feature: mercenary

Prestige
Your rank and prestige from your career as a mercenary/sell-sword still stays with you. sell-swords/mercenaries loyal to your former organization still recognize your authority and influence, and they defer to you if they are of a lower rank. You can invoke your rank to exert influence over other soldiers and requisition simple equipment or horses for temporary use. You can also usually gain access to friendly military encampments and fortresses where your former organization and rank is recognized.

 

Mercenary Life
You know the mercenary life as only someone who has experienced it can. You are able to identify mercenary companies by their emblems, and you know a little about any such company, including the names and reputations of its commanders and leaders, and who has hired them recently. You can find the taverns and festhalls where mercenaries abide in any area, as long as you speak the language. You can find mercenary work between adventures sufficient to maintain a comfortable lifestyle.

 

 

Ultimate Survivor
In your free time on the battlefield you have heard many different stories and witnessed many different craft/tools/professions. You have seen how different masteries affected the outcome of battles, you have seen might master fall to traps, you have seen weak soldiers becoming nearly invincible with the right equipment, you have seen assassins capable of such fast disguise that they could be called shapeshifters.

You have decided to specialize in a craft/tools/professions yourself, however as a mercenary you couldn't get rid of your habit of trying to master all things that could help you survive. With the connections/friends you created over the years you spend pon the battlefield you have convinced some of your friends to help you learn different crafts/tools/professions, for a corresponding price of course. Cause everybody knows Mercenaries don't work for free. 

  • The required experience/time to increase/gain proficiency in a tool can be decreased by sacrificing a corresponding amount of gold(can be changed with DM's discretion).
    • 5000 gp cuts experience/time needed by 1/8
    • 10000 gp cuts experience/time needed by 1/6
    • 15000 gp cuts experience/time needed by 1/4
    • 20000 gp cuts experience/time needed by 1/2
    • 25000 gp cuts experience/time needed by 1/1, completely
