You were raised in the wilds of Cormanthor – once home to elves, and now mainly abandoned to folk hardy enough to survive its myriad dangers. Perhaps you grew up in a remote settlement such as Tangled Trees, or you spent your early years wandering the vast forest, scrambling to stay alive.
Whatever your history, life in the wilds has toughened you so well that you are as brave as a sprite when it comes to facing the terrors and other challenges of the deep starwood.
- Skill Proficiencies: Stealth, Survival
- Tool Proficiencies: Cook's utensils, Herbalism kit
- Equipment: Cook's utensils, herbalism kit, rope, hempen (50 feet), a set of traveler's clothes, and a pouch containing 10 gp
You had a harrowing encounter with one of Cormanthor's many monsters. You escaped with your life, but the encounter left you with a scar or two, or perhaps a recurring nightmare. Roll on (or choose from) the Close Encounter table to determine which creature nearly got the best of you.

You gain the Tough feat from the Player's Handbook. In addition, you learned how to adapt to travelling in the wilds. Being a lightly obscured area, such as dim light, patchy fog, or moderate foliage, doesn't give you disadvantage your Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
