Welcome! Welcome, everyone, to this wonderful event! Now, you may be wondering what this is about? Well, let me tell you!

This community… it’s wonderful. I love it so much. the people, the ideas, the fun I’ve had here is immeasurable. So, I thought of a way to celebrate it: On June 20th, Pacific Standard Time, there will be a tea party. All forumgoers are invited, and there will be games, there will be fun, there will be anything you can dream, all the way until June 21st! But first, I am hosting a game to kick off the event ten days before, a game that will see who will be crowned the Tea party King! Or Queen, or Monarch!

This thread will be where this game will be held: the be best competition. This will be a series of challenges and puzzles for you all to complete. One challenge a day, for ten days. The games will be as follows, of which I will elaborate on the day of the game.

day 1: Jousting!

day 2: Beastball!

day 3: Obstacle course!

day 4: trial by combat!

day 5: Scavenger hunt!

day 6: Eating contest!

day 7: Is it Cake?

day 8: Riddles in the dark!

Day 9: Battleship! In space!

Day 10: The heist…

Each of the first 9 challenges can only have one winner, the best performing in the entire challenge. The tenth challenge, the Heist, is only available to the winners of the previous challenges. Whoever wins the heist wins the entire game, and will be crowned tea party Monarch on the 21st!

Now, where exactly does this take place?

You walk into the palace gardens, after receiving that wonderfully crafted invitation written with liquid gold ink, signed by… Johnny Teatime, and Archfey themself. It’s magical, the gardens. The sky is eternally somewhere between dusk and midnight, the plants are vibrant shades of greens and pinks and whites and blues, and the hedges form snaking patterns across the grassy, clover filled fields. On one side of the gardens is a magnificent marble wall laced with vines and flowers growing to the top, which is so dense with foliage it’s hard to see. On the other side is the magnificent white palace of yours truly. Tables with feasts after feasts are set up on a stone patio and several pavilions, and dozens of other contestants arrive in the grounds. On a raised table are the judges, Archfey themself in their Fey noble form, Johnny Teatime, a small kitten in a floating teacup, and a robed, shadowy figure yet to be named.

You are playing as you! A fantasy, in universe version of you, but still you nonetheless! Some of the games will require you to have a character sheet, which must be tenth level. Two magic items of rare, two of uncommon or lower.

Now, it is time! Go, talk with the other contestants and have fun before the games start! Because we promise, they will be hard.

A large, bulky anthropomorphic elk with a greataxe slung across their back walks onto the palace gardens and finds a place to sit down. They then begin to play a tune on a wooden flute.

 (Just make a character sheet and intro yourself like you would in a tavern. Arch didn't mean it had to be you specifically as a character, just a character that you made.)

A miniature dragon, between the size of a pony and a Great Dane, pads into the gardens. His scales are electric blue, shimmering and sparkling with flecks of green and white like waves cresting the ocean. He looks around, his bright intelligent eyes wide and curious.

T. S. Dark steps into the gardens. A top hat rests on his head and enhances his already tall appearance. Long, brown hair, twisted with curls, is pulled back in a man bun which is impaled with a yellow pencil. His nose is sharp, thin, and pointed, his smile is ever present.  His thin hand carries an umbrella like a cane, its golden point taps on the ground with every step he takes. A dark, forest green coat hangs upon his body and a brown waistcoat is worn under the coat. Brown britches clothe his long, jump step, legs and his booted feet seem to be just on the edge of breaking into dance. Flitting all about him are grey bodied, sweet stolen song, mockingbirds.

Unfortunately everyone, we are a few days behind schedule. That just means we’ll have to do a few games every day, as we’ve already missed the first two!

 “I’ve always thought so.” I say with a tip of my hat, which disturbs the mockingbird perching there. It flaps up with cry of a car horn. “Am I mistaken in my reckoning that you are Awe?”

 “Well, then let’s let the games begin! We have to be finished by teatime!”

Johnny Teatime, Archfey, and the mysterious third judge make their way onto a raised platform in the middle of the courtyard.

”Introducing, our first game! Jousting!” Archfey waves their hand, and the grassy fields magically reconstruct themselves into a jousting track. Brought out by fey servants, are a variety of mounts for the contestants to choose from:

Pegasi, Nightmares, Giant Moose, winter wolf, and a regular horse! Exciting, I know!

each contestant chooses a mount from one of these animals, and then faces off against a random opponent! They make Melee attacks against each other using Spears (just use those statistics) on a 100 foot long, 30 foot wide area that you cannot leave. You start on opposite ends of the track. First one to deal 30 damage to the opponent wins and moves on to the next opponent!

now, here are some special rules: flying mounts cannot end their turn flying, and special abilities such as a winter wolf’s ice breath takes your action to use, so you can either make a spear attack or activate an ability with your mount as an action, regardless of whether it takes an action to use or not. No spells allowed!

I believe that’s it, so choose your mounts!

I look over the mounts and then raise my hand, "Can I use my own mount if I brought it?" The flesh on the upheld hand ripples.
