The monsters that will appear in Monsters of the (Public) Domainare all inspired by monsters from movies that have fallen into the public domain. At this time, there are plans to represent 27 films (the earliest being The Cabinet of Dr. Caligarifrom 1920, the latest being Night of the Living Deadfrom 1968) in the finished book, with each monster receiving stat blocks with everything you'll need to incorporate the monster into a 5e game.
Each monster will receive at least two pages of coverage to provide the stat block, as well as a brief bit of information about the monster's source film.
Additionally, because the Stretch Goals were met, this book will also include an adventure inspired by the film The Killer Shrews, as well as stats for the characters of The Master and Torgo from Manos, the Hands of Fate(including new spells and a new warlock patron).
The cover will be in color. The interior pages and artwork will be in black-and-white (fitting, since most of these films were in black-and-white originally!). Artist Derek Benson has been hard at work on some of the artwork that will appear in the book.
We have just a few more days left before this Kickstarter Campaign comes to a close. I'm humbled by your support of this book, and I can't wait to share with you these monsters for your D&D table!
