Does Arcane Firearm extra damage apply to indirect magical damage

I was wondering wether the Extra d8 of Arcane Firearm applies to spells that indirectly do damage, for example if I were to cast Catapult and hurl an object at someone would that d8 of Arcane Firearm appmy despite ut not being direct spell damage? From the definition of german and english Im not quite sure. Any help sould be much appreciated.
