I have a question about the spell slots for the artificer. Looking at the chart in either the Eberron book or Tasha's, there is a huge jump in spell slots when you level from 4 to 5. Every other time, it takes two levels to get one more slot. Is this a typo or is it correct? Just seems odd to double your slots in one level, then go back to slow progression.
Not sure what you are meaning. At 4th you have 3 1st level slots and then at 5th you go to 4 1st and 2 2nd. At 1-3 level spell slots you always gain two slots of the newest spell level you obtain, same for standard spell progression for full casters, I believe. Then when you get 4th level slots or higher when you gain the new slot it’s only 1 slot at a time.
So you have two spell slots at 1st and 2nd level, three at 3rd and 4th level, then suddenly you have six spell slots at 5th (double slots in one level). Then back to a slow progression of 1 spell slot every two levels. Just seemed odd to have the huge jump there, then back to slow progression. I guess the asymmetry of it threw me a little. No big deal.
