Since artificers use and have proficiency with multiple artisans tools, can they use any of those tools as their arcane focus at a given time?
“You produce your artificer spell effects through your tools. You must have a spellcasting focus—specifically thieves’ tools or some kind of artisan’s tool—in hand when you cast any spell with this Spellcasting feature. You must be proficient with the tool to use it in this way.”
I know they can also use an infused item as an arcane focus at 2nd level. But that wouldn’t mean that any tools would stop being an arcane focus for them, right?
“After you gain the Infuse Item feature at 2nd level, you can also use any item bearing one of your infusions as a spellcasting focus.”
What I really want to figure out, is if all my tools I am carrying would be considered arcane foci. And thus “magical items” for the purpose of not being dissolved by acid.
"Also" means "In addition to". It means that you can do either option.
Being an arcane focus has no bearing on the magical-ness of your tools. They're still just tools, the artificer can just use tools (or more accurately, things built with their tools) as spellcasting foci. Drop your expensive thieves' tools in acid, you'll still need new ones.
As an artillerist, Yes. Any wand, staff, or rod can be an arcane firearm. HOWEVER you cannot make a wand, staff, or rod that is already magical into a enhanced arcane focus. I was kind of surprised to find that all wands, staffs, and rods don't already count as magical.
So i have a normal non magical wand. I make it my arcane firearm and then infuse it with enhanced arcane focus. I get benefits from both correct? Sorry for the clarification. Just dont want any arguments when i do this.

You'll want to do it the other way around. Infuse a non-magical wand first and the make it into your Arcane Firearm. Yes, the benefits from both should apply.

An infusion can only be placed on a non-magical item. While the infusion is on that item it is considered a magic item.
Arcane firearm doesn't have that restriction and can be placed on any rod, wand, or staff, regardless of whether or not it is magical.

New here. Also sorry if this has been answered. Can an infused wand of enhanced arcane focus also be an arcane firearm?
