So I looked over the rules but I don't see anything specifically for 3rd level Armorer stating I can nor can't make a magic armor my Arcane armor. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe its decision for the dm.
3rd-level Armorer feature Your metallurgical pursuits have led to you making armor a conduit for your magic. As an action, you can turn a suit of armor you are wearing into Arcane Armor, provided you have smith's tools in hand.
My other question regarding this is, if I "can" make a magic suit of armor my arcane armor can I still infuse an infusion on to it?
The rules for infusions specifically state you can only infuse a nonmagical item. The house rules I play with don't consider a +1 (or mithral) to be magical for armor or weapons but rather just really well made. Something with a more magical property would be clearly outside that rule.
I agree with you that the rules for Arcane Armor do not have this limitation. So I'd rule you could make it your Arcane Armor, but not add an infusion to it when you get it at 3rd level. Only the Arcane Armor features.
At 9th level, there's specific language that lets you infuse your Arcane Armor, and going with specific over general, I'd allow you to infuse it at that time.
Ok, makes sense. So let me get this clear because this is how I'm understanding it. I can make magical and non-magical armor into Arcane armor.
The 3rd level feature doesn't say at any point that the Arcane Armor feature is magical nor makes the equipped armor magical, only stating that the player gains benefits and then special benefits.
So with that, if I make Plate armor as my Arcane Armor I can still apply an infusion and more so in seperate parts at lv9.
Now if I'm interpretating that correctly, my Arcane plate armor can be infused with the magical ability of Arcane Purpulsion Armor at lv14.
Thus the 1d8 Thunder damage from the Arcane Armor feature Thunder Gauntlets apply and stack with the 1d8 force damage gauntlets from the infusion Arcane Purpulsion Armor.

Appreciate the clarification thanks.
