I'm looking to build a Battle Smith specialising in crossbows. As a replicated magic item I can make a repeating crossbow, which both acts as a spell focus and a +1 magical weapon.
RAW material requirements for True Strike say the weapon must have a cost of least 1cp. Because the replicated item has a cost of 0, in Beyond I'm unable to use true strike on that weapon.
Is this intentional, or is this something that needs reviewing now that EFotA has released?
My DM hasn't much experience of artificers in 2024 ruleset so I want to have options before we discuss it further, rather than us making a HB rule which makes this completely OP if its intended you can't.
Repeating Shot weapons are uncommon magic items added in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer. Uncommon magic items have a cost of 200 GP on the Magic Item Crafting Time and Cost table in the new DMG. Just because you can create it for 0 GP doesn't mean it doesn't have a cost.
Thanks - yeah the character is being rolled as a Lvl 6 character (5 levels Artificer/1 level fighter to get the "Archery" fighting style). Going for a Van Helsing inspired vampire hunter, so having the option for the Extra Radiant damage was more for RP purposes, against undead & vampires. Agreed that I'll probably spend 90% of the time using the two attacks "normally".

Ah okay. Thankyou for that distinction. It sounds like the Beyond logic might need to be updated to allow this in line with the rules.
Bug report?
It shows on other weapons through Beyond
