I know that the PGB and Xanathars have the bulk of the Spells that have been published, but there are a few others spread through the various books. Are any of these particularly suited to/should be considered for the Artificer spell list? I know that several say what classes they should be added to the list for, but I think all of them were published before the Artificer. What about Magic Items? Do any with restrictions on who can Attune them stick out as needing the Artificer retroactively added to their lists? The Staff of Healing in particular seems like it would have Artificer on the list if they had been published at that time.
Disappointed Chime of Opening was struck from the Replicate Items list, confused why Knock never made it on the spell list and I wish Shield was a base spell since its on all the subclasses (Armourer included) spell lists bar Alchemist.

I get all those, and agree with some of them, definitely. But I meant more "If there Artificer was already published when Sword Coast came out, I bet they would have gotten lightning lash" sort of thing.
If the Archivist ever sees the light of day outside of UA then Encode Thoughts would be right up their alley.
Xanathar spells that would be extremely appropriate for an Alchemist: Dragon's Breath, Vitriolic Sphere but naturally all the subclass spells for the Artificer are PHB only.
Magic items:
The Mizzium Apparatus comes to mind, it requires attunement by a sorceror, warlock or wizard.

Which wouldn't bother the Artificer's ability to attune to it after level 14 anyway. :)

1) Anything unique to the artificer would be nice. They took away the 1 unique artificer sell when they took away Arcane Weapon.
2) Booming Blade and Green Flame Blade seem like they are perfect artificer cantrips.
