Is there anything prohibiting me from using the pact weapon boon and then improved pact weapon invocation on my Armor's Thunder Gauntlets? Thematically I think it would be badass to have the gauntlets disappear during normal times, and then magically form over my hands before combat. Also, having them get a +1 to attack and damage wouldn't hurt either. I could then go on to take thirsting blade for two attacks per turn.
Also, just to verify, the Fighters unarmed fighting wouldn't apply to Gauntlet strikes, right? Because technically the gauntlets are weapons?
Honestly I keep thinking that I want to MC to make Artificer cooler, but then every time I come up with a cool thing, it turns out artificers can already do the thing, just a different way.

Hello brain trust,
Is there anything prohibiting me from using the pact weapon boon and then improved pact weapon invocation on my Armor's Thunder Gauntlets? Also, having them get a +1 to attack and damage wouldn't hurt either. I could then go on to take thirsting blade for two attacks per turn.

The ability says weapon choices are in the equipment section so RAW no.
But, your DM is at liberty to change this because its neat and doesn't buff them that much.
