I'm not sure if i understand it correctly but if i'm not mistaken, the feat "Artificer initiate" lets us use artisan's tools to cast any spell cast with intelligence, as a spellcasting focus. This means we can now multiclass Wizard or take the magic initiate (wizard) feat and grab "Toll the dead" and some more necrotic spells, right ?
It seems a bit stretched of a rule but ... still legal ?
That is indeed how it works. It would be different if Alchemical Savant cared about artificer spells, but since you can use those supplies for any intelligence based spell you can add the Savant to your wizard spells of the appropriate damage types due to the Artificer Initiate feat's wording. If only this worked with Artillerist too, but hey, Alchemist needed a buff and being a better multiclass into wizard is certainly an interesting one.
As a note you do have to be careful about when you grab this feat since you have to become proficient with Alchemists Supplies with it to specifically gain the benefit, so might be best for variant human builds or builds that start off as wizards.

You're right but still it can be a solution. Thank you for checking with me.
Fellow alchemists, you know what to do !
magic initiate is awesome for this as well.
As is the Fey Touched and Shadow Touched. The latter netting you Inflict Wounds. Which is pretty damaging but even nicer with Savant.
