Hi! thankyou for taking interest in this post! I'm getting close to leveling up with my Fire Genasi Artillerist and I want to take Homunculus Servant as my next infusion, but I'm having an issue with coming up with the look and aesthetic of the body for my character's new trusted companion, I've looked through the forums but couldn't see anything that would fit an Artillerist. It doesn't need to be anything too specific, it could just be a basic idea that I could think about and get my creative juices flowing for it. I'll reply to peoples posts if I like them or not, or if they would fit my character's aesthetic or not.
Thanks again for taking interest in this post and I can't wait to see what ideas people have!!!
Almost any random object can be transformed into a homunculus with some creativity, and a mechanized version of any Familiar form works as well. Alternatively, for an artillerist specifically, you may want to consider modeling your homunculus after a creature known for its keen eyesight, such as a hawk, on the idea of creating your own artillery spotter. Heh, or put large, heavy spotting goggles on whatever you end up settling on.
You could create a lantern-like version of the amazing jet-flying teapot in Tasha's Cauldron. Put a face and a set of arms on a lantern, ideally a hooded one, and play into the Fire genasi thing a bit. plus, then your homunculus can be a flying hands-free light source (with all the benefits and drawbacks that entails for the homunculus - no DM with a brain in their head will let a flying lantern make any kind of Stealth roll).
An idea I've considered fondly for theoretical next artificers is just making a metal steampunk Geodude, and get as close as an artificer can really get to the literal definition of an extra set of helping hands. Frankly, Pokemon is a decent place to look for inspiration for different homunculus forms, provided one stays away from the big critters and also that one actually likes those games.
That's actually a pretty cool idea! But a friend of mine in a discord was sending a tonne of artwork for steampunk like drones where they had a tonne of fans keeping them in the air.

There's a few different homunculus proposals in this thread, similar to yours here.

How about an anthropomorphic, cartoon-like bomb?
