I taught myself to draw by tracing comic strips, primarily Calvin and Hobbes. Over the last five years or so, I’ve also been using a basic shapes technique that I stole from a horse-drawing book I got at the library. The end result is that I’m fairly good at drawing horses, reasonably good at drawing cartoons and human figures, and absolutely awful at drawing fantasy creatures/characters.
So does anybody have any tips or resources they use for fantasy drawings? A physical book would be most helpful, but YouTube videos and other resources are great, too.
I don’t really care for anime-style art, but I’ll try anything. I’m pretty good at cannibalizing advice!

I live with several severe autoimmune conditions. If I don’t get back to you right away, it’s probably because I’m not feeling well.

Get art & Arcana: The complete art of dungeons and dragons. You'll have plenty of material to repurpose.
Is there a specific style that you're looking for? Fantasy is a fairly broad genera. Art Nouveau as done be Rebecca Guay is fantastic, but extremely different from the Realism of Todd Lockwood. Or do you want something more Cartoony, like the stuff done by Top Craft / Toei Animation (who did the Lord of the Rings cartoon and the Last Unicorn). Any of their work would be great to study for fantasy.

WASD 20 has made some pretty good videos and tutorials about drawing fantasy maps and creatures

Can you also throw in a link to your work?)
Well, I can try. No guarantees!
