If you want cheap, simple and hardwearing as well as easy to store, then tokens are better. If you're talking about flashy, cool to look at and good to sit on your shelf to show off, then you want to 3D print (or clay model, I've not seen any of those). It also depends on where your talents are.
It just depends on what you want from it. I 3D print almost everything because I enjoy having it as a hobby. Playing with them or showing them off is actually pretty secondary for me.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I feel like this is not a full representation of your options?
You're missing:
Injection moulded minis like Nolzurs Marvellous Miniatures
Multipart posable minis EG the warhammer range
Printed Standees
miscellaneous toys from unknown sources
bobblehead type minis
sculpted minis (greenstuff, milliput, etc.)
3d printed is very bespoke, and I'm assuming you mean polymer clay models? You've missed the whole range of non-bespoke minis out there, which are very good.
Personally, most of my minis are from the Nolzurs Marvellous Miniatures range, because the shop I frequent (Clifton Road Games in Exeter, UK, shameless plug because it's an awesome shop) stocks damn near all of them on a huge wall of minis! I also have a couple of ones I've sculpted myself because I went on a mission to sculpt stuff a while ago, like a Roper, a Mimic, and a Galeb Dhur with no feet because I never finished him!
Out of that list, 3d printed. Clay takes a lot of time to make and I've never really come across any clay minis for sale. They're also not as sturdy for tabletop playing as plastic, resin, or metal figures. I'm not a fan of tokens. If I'm going to play with a physical piece I want a 3d figure.
What do you think is the best mini for your character?
1: 3D Printing
2: Clay Model
3: Token
4: None at all
Would heroforge count as 3D printing?

I think you'll have to define "best".
