Hello everyone. I am hoping this is the correct place for this.
I am looking to custom build my husband a PC and since he regularly plays DnD I thought it would be cool to use this as a theme. SO i am wondering if there is anything specific which would work with that. From what I have looked up other than the DnD title it all seems dependent on characters and such which everyone creates and so is different. But are there any other common features which run through the game?
Trying to envision what I might do to integrate D&D into a computer build, it's a tricky thing. There's not, like, a lot of room there, lol. Here are some ideas though.
Some kind of graphic wrap or decal, maybe using one of Hydro74's designs, across the side of the tower would be cool. Like how the Xbox Series X has custom wraps / skins. I don't know how they're made or where you can get one though. Other designs... Maybe one of the many scenes of adventurers resting around a campfire, or art from the cover of a favorite book.
Custom keycaps? D&D uses a particular font / typeface for their branding, though it's changed over the years. The current "front cover" font is Modesto Bold Condensed, and the "regular text" font is FF Scala Sans. I bet a keyboard using one of those would be neat.
If you're really ambitious, you could design a custom case, maybe one that resembles a treasure chest, though that would be an uncommon shape for a PC. Or one that resembles a Mimic, pretending to be a computer tower. You might be able to just add on some sculpted teeth and eyes to an existing case. I don't know where to begin with something like that, though.

Yeah there aren't a lot of options. D&D is usually played in-person and doesn't require a beefy PC at all if you're playing digitally. ChoirOfFire's mimic PC is a good idea.

Okay, so this was awesome info thanks. I was thinking about building a custom design case but was having difficulty trying to find something that would work with the case shape. The treasure chest/mimic thing could be cool though. I wanted to start looking into it now so to give myself plenty of time if I needed it.

He doesn't play it on the PC but he goes to play quite often, so I just thought it would be a cool little thing for him when he is playing games on his pc. 😊

Aw, he's lucky to have a partner like you
I would go with the mimic idea. I'm kinda lost for PC build ideas other than that
"...or you can find the secret tunnel that leads to the Vault of Dickish DM which is filled with 10,000,000 copper coins and a 5,000 pound solid gold statue of a middle finger that is too big to fit through the door."

Yes, thankyou. I think this is what I am going to attempt.

Yes I am going to upgrade and mod my own for him as there is no way in heck I could get him to part with his 🤣 I am planning to upgrade the internal components and was thinking about doing something to the tower itself as well

Do you mean PC as in Player Character or as in Personal Computer?

Here's what Kount's Kustom's did for some PCs that might give you some ideas. Some of the artwork is straight off the books: Counting Cars: Ryan and Mike Airbrush Computers | History - YouTube

I watched it, that was some pretty awesome art work. Give me aome ideas if I fail at the chest mimic thing. Thanks

You could make the computer tower ( I believe that’s what it’s called a with little cobblestone wrap and little vines like a tower!
Do you have a pc and you want to build on it ?
Thanks will have to look into this!
