Looking at a mini that I want for a big ending to my campaign sometime this year I think. It can be 140mm or 105mm. This dragon mini is the BBEG of the campaign and I want to add a mountain to its back (or seemingly so, so the players mini's can stand on it). Would the 105 be good for that or would I need the 140?
I think it will depend on several factors. What size mini's are being used for the players? How many players can climb on the dragon's back at a time? How big should the dragon look to the players? If it was me, I would sketch out a few ideas with measurements and see what would fit the campaign the best. I might even try a few ideas with a cardboard or paper stand in for the dragon before going with a final mini for it.

That's a good idea. Now when they measure out the mm for it is it the base size or the dragon nose to tail?
Most of the one's I've seen are listed by base size, but a few sites seem to list by height. If the mini's are in a store near you it would be a good idea to look at them. Someone at a game store might also be failure with the company that makes the mini's and can tell you how they're measured.
