I'm a pretty new hand when it comes to both painting and 3-D printing- but I just started using Fat Dragon dungeon tiles. I'd love to paint them up all pretty- the only problem is that I have no idea what type of pallet or techniques I should use. If anyone has any experience or advice for me I would love to hear it.
I am currently looking at painting stone textured dungeon tiles made to resemble stone bricks and slabs. There are a lot of them so cheap paints and easily repeatable techniques would be the most welcome. Thanks!
Here's a painting guide video from them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJZsSuasB2w I'd think craft acrylic paint and brushes would work just fine. How are you liking these tiles, they look pretty sweet just not sure if I want to jump into 3D printing just yet.
They are pretty great. I'm using a Flashforge Finder which costs $350 on Amazon if you have Prime and the hardware is super intuitive; I was able to get it up and running right out of the box in about 45 minutes. As for quality- they look just like the photos provided by the company. If I had any complaint it would be the time it takes to print each one out (a little bit over four hours for each 2"x 2" tile). I haven't gone through the spool which came with the printer yet- but a little bit of googling tells me that a standard spool lasts for quite some time (380 Chess Pieces) and costs about $30. Though I've had it for less than a week, I am extremely happy with my purchase.
