I met my husband when I was 17 and he was 19, this year (2025) we will celebrate 20 years together, so I have chosen to start by telling our story first through the lens of DnD. I myself am very new to roleplaying and DnD, but it was love at first sight. I love writing and am actively working on writing my first book. These adventures I will write will be about characters that I have based on me, my husband and our children. I will play these adventures myself, and then write a story for them that I intend to post here on this forum. I also want to say that im from Sweden so english is not my first language.
The first adventure will be based on Tyranny of Dragons. i dont own anything that i part of the published adventry.
We get to follow two characters who are based on me and my husband.
Idun is a young human woman, 20 years old, who grew up on a farm in the Dalelands. She loves nature and animals, so her family wasn't too surprised when she decided to become an apprentice to a druidic grove. When the adventure begins, she has started traveling around to help people heal their animals and livestock.
Vidar is a drow who has left the underdark for a life above ground. He has a strong sense of what is right and does not want anyone to experience the manipulation he did in his “younger” years. He is now a renowned member of the Order of the Gauntlet. When the adventure begins, he is on a mission to investigate increasing dragon activity.
It is early morning in the village of Greenest, the only town of its size along the Uldoon Trail. The sun is still low in the sky. The villagers are waking up, many of them about to start their day. One of them is the young woman Idun. She came to the village a week ago after hearing that the village needed help with its livestock. Idun is a traveling druid who specializes in caring for animals.
— “Good morning Idun! How are you today?” asks an older man Idun meets on the road. She recognizes him from the day before as the owner of some cows she helped trim their hooves. She doesn’t remember the man’s name, but she remembers that he cared about the well-being of his animals.
— "Good morning! I'm fine, how are you and the cows?" In fact, she's tired. Ever since she arrived in Greenest, she's had a recurring dream. The world is being destroyed by biting cold, suffocating fumes, thunderstorms, waves of acid, and great fires. The dream always ends the same way: ten glowing eyes stare at her in the darkness. She doesn't know what it means, but she's learned to listen to her instincts — and they tell her to stay. The dream has something to do with the village.
Idun and the man continue talking about the best feed to give the cows when they are interrupted by a large shadow falling over the city. Both Idun and the man look up and freeze at what they see. A blue dragon. Screams are heard in the distance, and on the outskirts of the city there are signs of it being attacked.
A little way outside the city, a drow named Vidar comes riding by. He is on his way to Greenest to investigate rumors of increased dragon activity. The closer he gets to the city, the more alarmed he becomes. He is met by black smoke rising into the sky, people fleeing, and a dark winged shape gliding over the city. "The dragon rumors don't seem exaggerated, at least," he says to his black horse Sleipner. He pats the stallion on the neck and tells him to hurry to the village.
