One of my favourite things to do for my players is make letters, notes and scrolls. I find it really cool to be able to say “pinned on the notice board before you is a faded piece of parchment covered in spidery handwriting” and then hand the players an actual note (in my own spidery handwriting).
I did it where I put some chocolate coins and a note in an envelope for my party at the end of an adventure. What they found really cool was the wax seal I put on the envelope, you just seal it like normal and stamp it. I guess if you’re really artistic you could carve or 3D print a stamp but I used a foreign coin double sided taped to an old glue stick, and just pressed that onto some dripped candle wax. Worked nicely.
i also made a map for storm king’s thunder where I printed off an image from the internet and weathered it with tea. I then rolled it up and made a kind of binder for it out of cardboard decorated with giant (language) runes. It was tied up in old red and brown twine from Christmas crackers. We start this weekend and I can’t wait to see them undo it and see all the places they could go...
Nice job! Coincidentally I just saw a wax/sealing kit online somewhere and decided I was going to purchase it and make letters from high nobility families either for the players or for them to hand off to others (obviously they're going to want to open them so they will be "magically" trapped in that case). Anyhow I plan to do this and bring in other props to give my players when I start my new campaign.

Sounds cool, post some photos of them, mate!
I’m not really sure how to insert images, this may or may not work. The scroll:

I think that is a great idea to use a foreign coin. Thanks for sharing.

I get stupidly excited whenever my DM hands out props, I'm sure your players really appreciate it too.
