I am a disabled artist, and I deal with a lot of chronic pain and fatigue, so sometimes it can take me a long time to finish artwork haha. I am trying to be better about it though.
I am currently working on a digital drawing of one of my D&D 5e characters. Her name is Kai Stormbringer, and she is a water genasi. She is also a warlock with a noble genie patron that is her father. I chose pact of the talisman for her because I thought it would be a fun combination. You can read the full back story I wrote up for her when you click on the spoiler.
Kai's mother is a beautiful sea elf warlock and scholar/teacher in Kai's sea elf community home by the sea. Her name is Avashtana. Avashtana would often go on long expeditions by herself to distant oceans in search of artifacts or lost knowledge. Her husband Deranthil (surname: Arrn’ess which means Storm Bringer in Common) is a sea elf noble, a scholar/teacher, and a great warrior. They would often take turns staying home to teach while the other would go on their research expeditions. Avashtana found it harder and harder to stay safe on her travels on her own as time went on, and she began to daydream of having great powers to defend herself against her enemies.
During one of her expeditions she came across information about a powerful water genie noble named Malik'rayan Nenamaya. She would read tales of his power and how handsome he was. Over time she grew enamored and intrigued by all that she read about him. One day during her expedition she had found enough information on how to make contact with this great being, and she decided that she just had to meet him. Once she made contact with Malik'rayan and saw his majesty and beauty she showered him with compliments and praises. She begged him for his blessings and to give her strength to protect herself on her journeys. She shamelessly flirted with him as well, with complete disregard for her loyal husband waiting for her at home. Malik'rayan basked in her adoration and despite seeing her as a lesser being, he did think she was at least beautiful in her pitiful mortal form. He flirted with her right back and one thing lead to another and there was a few days of passion between them. He even became her patron bestowing upon her the powers of a genie warlock. Unfortunately, Malik'rayan has a fiercely independent nature and never wished to be tied down, especially not to some pitiful mortal. He grew bored with her after those few days, and decided to leave her on her own. Avashtana was saddened by the lack of real love from him, but was still grateful for his blessings. She remembered that she had someone waiting for her at home who truly loved her and was loyal to her, and she felt terrible for the affair she had and swore never to tell Deranthil because it would break his heart.
She decided to continue with the rest of her expedition, but after a month went by she realized she was pregnant. She had been away from Deranthil too long for it to be his child, so she knew Malik'rayan was the father. Upon this realization she thought of how strong and beautiful her child might be and she did not want to end her pregnancy, especially since she had no luck conceiving a child with Deranthil for so many years. Her only option to hide her affair from Deranthil was to send word home that she would have to extend her journey, and to stay away from home long enough to give birth. Water genasi are often abandoned by their parents and left to be raised by sea elves, so she figured it would not be suspicious to say that she found the child on her journeys and wanted to adopt it as her own. She could even use it to explain away the extending of her journey by telling Deranthil that she had made attempts to look for the child's parents just in case it wasn't actually abandoned. She loved her new daughter more than anything and is so proud to be the mother of such a powerful and beautiful creature. Even as a baby she showed signs of the small magical powers within her gifted from her true father, so Avashtana decided to name her Kai after the powerful ocean. Kai is greatly loved by and taught by her parents. She grew up following in her mother's footsteps in the path of a scholar and magic user, but learned the fighting spirit of Deranthil as well.
On Kai's 16th birthday Avashtana decided to take her along on one of her shorter and safer expeditions. While floating on the ocean currents and staring up at the stars before going to bed, Avashtana thought about how long Kai might live and how much time she herself had left in her own lifetime. In a life with adventures and expeditions to far off places there are many risks that could cut your life short without warning. She thought of Kai's real father, and she wanted Kai to know the truth before anything happens to her and she is no longer able to tell her. She told Kai how her true father is Malik'rayan Nenamaya, and expressed how terrible she felt, and how much she regretted the affair she had, and her betrayal to Deranthil. She wanted to give Kai the chance to meet her real father, so she found a way to once again make contact with Malik'rayan. This time she got his attention by speaking about his daughter. He found this interesting and decided to meet with Kai.
Kai had tried to ask him many questions about his origins and other things related to genasi and genies in general, but he rudely ignored her inqueries. Instead he went on for hours telling her stories about his conquests and great things he has done, and claiming how proud and lucky she should feel to be his daughter. Kai had always loved stories and was so curious about her father that she didn't mind so much that he brushed off her questions. She was happy to have any kind of communication with him at all. Once Malik'rayan grew weary of telling stories he stopped, and he noticed that he had Kai's full attention, and she had hung on his every word. He was impressed and flattered by this. He also had begun to think about what his rivals might say about him having a weaker daughter. He figured it would be beneficial to him to make sure she was powerful. He decided he would bless her with the powers of a genie warlock like her mother. This would also help her be more free and independent like him too. Kai was very grateful for her new abilities, and she told him that she would make sure to contact him at least every 5 years, so they could share stories with each other. He was pleased with the fact that she didn't wish to tie him down and that she enjoyed his ramblings, so he agreed to the meetings.
Kai and her mother continued their travels and returned home, but the stress of keeping the secret of her mother's infidelity from Deranthil started to wear on her over the years. Kai also fell in love with a smart and handsome sea elf in her home community that had been a friend to her. Unfortunately, he did not think of her that way, and he wanted to marry a sea elf like himself. He was in love with another, a beautiful female that wasn't very intelligent and made him feel like more of a big shot. She loved him back just as much and was impressed by his intelligence and beauty, and they ended up getting married. Dealing with the rejection of her love and the stress of her family secret, Kai couldn't stand living at home any longer. She also has a great urge to explore and meet new people from different races and cultures and see new places and worlds to study. Taking the skills and knowledge she learned from her parents, she made the decision to leave home and start her own journey as an adventurer.
I am very new to digital art, so it's been interesting getting used to it. This is the line art I have done so far for her, although I plan on altering some parts of it. Also, please don't mind the watermarks I put on it until I can license it once it's finished. I plan to make it a fully colored, shaded, etc. artwork, so once it's finished I'll post the final product here on this thread if anyone wants to see. I want to draw more of my characters too, so I will try to post those here as well.

I am just using Photoshop CS6 and a XP-Pen drawing tablet connected to my PC. I think Blender is more for 3D modeling art stuff, and I am not doing any of that. I don't have the time (with all my hobbies lol) to get into Blender stuff, and I don't think my PC could handle it very well on a regular basis with my current hardware lol. I can barely play Cyberpunk 2077 with my PC setup right now.
hey i know it's a big ask but I am very new into dnd and already have a homebrew world established. if any artists (bad, or good) would like to give drawing a character a try, here's a short list
Isak Heartstone/Ress Aquamarine: Riki(aarakocra) wizard, bears resemblance to a bluejay, 2 versions: Isak (before accidentally becoming a criminal)wears goggles resting on his head, a purple vest, and a rusty orange coat with lots of pockets. a few beak scratches. Ress (new identity) striped red vest, white, poofy pants, a black cloth belt, and a large rucksack.

This is the line art I have done so far for her, although I plan on altering some parts of it.
Also, please don't mind the watermarks I put on it until I can license it once it's finished.
I plan to make it a fully colored, shaded, etc. artwork,
so once it's finished I'll post the final product here on this thread if anyone wants to see.
I want to draw more of my characters too, so I will try to post those here as well.

That is REALLY good!
Fighter: We need to get out of here! The Goblins are overwhelming us!
Wizard: Time to use that sketchy item the DM never stops grinning about *rolls a nat one*
Barbarian(in rage as usual): Aw Hellllllll Naw . . .
Thank you! I appreciate the compliment, as I am still learning a lot haha!

What software or equipment do you use for your digital art? I'm in the process of building a PC to learn digital art. I'll most likely be using Blender.
I am just using Photoshop CS6 and a XP-Pen drawing tablet connected to my PC.
I think Blender is more for 3D modeling art stuff, and I am not doing any of that.
I don't have the time (with all my hobbies lol) to get into Blender stuff, and
I don't think my PC could handle it very well on a regular basis with my current
hardware lol.

Ress (new identity) striped red vest, white, poofy pants, a black cloth belt, and a large rucksack.
feel free to go nuts with everything else
