Hello everyone! I am Alex and fairly new to D&D. I got invited to my first campaign and we are 15 session in. I love to create characters and to fantasize about different build’s. the next character I’d like to play might be a Dhampir Beast Barbarian. While looking through the characteristics of the Path of the Beast Barbarian I was wondering how to use the claws properly. If I make one attack with the claws I can make another one which is part of the first attack action. Does that also mean, that I just have to roll once to hit with both claws since it is the same action? Or do I have to roll to hit a second time for the other claw?
You will also have to roll an another hit die for extra claw attack. It is a separate attack much like the one granted by the Gloomstalker Ranger's Dread Ambusher ability.

But the rules state, that it’s part of the same attack action. That’s what confuses me. It’s not a second attack
It is not uncommon to make multiple attacks with the same action. Most martial classes get the Extra Attack feature at level 5 or 6 (Fighters get a more jacked up version at level 11 and 20). Various abilities like the Beast Claws and Dread Ambusher does the same thing with the added benefit of being able to be combined with the Extra Attack feature.
There are even spells that make multiple attacks with the same action such as Scorching Ray and Eldritch Blast.
As a general rule of thumb for every attack you make you will need to roll an individual die to determine if the attack hits. This will hold true unless something more specific in the ability or spell states otherwise.

Thanks a lot for the clarification!
In that case I have a feeling that the Path of the beast will be more of a flavor class because fighting with a great axe or a great sword will maximize the damage output.
i was hoping that my interpretation of the claws rules were right so that the damage the claws would do would match mentioned weapons.

As a Path of the Beast using your Claws is the better option compared to a normal greatsword or great axe. Before you get Extra Attack you can make two claw attacks for 1d6 + Strength modifier + Rage damage bonus each. With a greatsword only get one attack for 2d6 + Strength modifier + Rage damage. If we assume you have a +3 strength modifier the claws have an average damage of 2(3.5+3+2) = 17, where as the greatsword have an average damage of 2(3.5)+3+2 = 12. We can ignore hit and crit chance because it is the same for both weapons.
Once you get Extra Attack you can use both your Claws and a greatsword. You only need to hold a two handed weapon in both hands when actually attacking with it and with you can use different attacks for each attack you make with Extra Attack. So with your first attack you can use your greatsword, then with your second attack from Extra Attack you can attack with your Claws. Then because you made an attack with your Claws as part of your Attack Action you can make another Claw attack as part of the same action. This nets you a total of three attacks and with just your action.
