You have to be a Warlock to get Agonizing Blast, there's no way around it. Eldritch Adept only lets you select invocations that do not have a prerequisite. If a invocation has a prerequisite you have to both be a Warlock and meet the prerequisite.
It’s probably better to multiclass into Warlock for two levels for a Bard than to use two ASIs to get Agonizing Blast. CHR is the spellcasting stat for both, so it’s pretty SAD. You might even go three to get Pact of the Tome, or even. Pact of the Blade for a College of Swords Bard.
You *can* do it with a single level dip into Warlock. Take Eldritch Adept (Something, say, Devil's Sight). Then do a single level dip into Hexblade. Eldritch Adept allows you to change the invocation any time you level, you just swap it to Agonizing Blast.

Hi,
I've temporarily made my hero level 16, and taken to lore bard subclass in an effort to take Agonizing blast.
At level 4 i took Magic initiate (Warlock) and made sure to pick Eldrich blast, which is the prerequisite for Agonizing blast.
At level 6, 10 and 14 i get my Bardic Magical Secrets but Agonizing blast isn't selectable on the D&D character builder?
Am I missing something?
Agonizing Blast is an invocation, not a spell, so you would need to pick Eldrich Adept as well, to get it.
