My group(I'm a player) is currently playing The hoard of the dragon queen. For reasons my DM allowed me to switch from my current life cleric to a new character. I planned a Archfey Bardlock Eladrin, Tome of the chain, Lore bard. Seems fun and useful in RP situations.
My main concern is that Indon't know if I'll be "underpowered" or behind my group and that I'll be a weak bard for some time because I made it 3 warlock/1 bard. He comes from the Feywild with Titania as her patron to investigate the weird and concerning stuff happening with dragons.I went with 3 warlock because I really wanted the benefits of Pact of the chain.
I don't really know if start as a Bard or as a Warlock now. Storywise, I imagine I've been first a Bard at the Seelie court and Titania granted me her favor and powers because I'm like a trustfull servant, functionary and spy; like a right hand; but still, I don't know what of those things is better to go first so my progression doesn't hurt too much.
I'd like to hear from more experienced players how you would've approached this character.
If I was worried about effectiveness, I would make sure to plan for Eldritch Blast with Agonizing Blast. That will basically mean you have on tap reasonable damage every turn.
It's hard to answer this question without knowing what you want and expect from both of those classes. What is it about Pact of Chain Warlock you really like? What is it about Lore Bard you really like?
Is having a pwerful familiar more important? Or do you care more about access to Magical Secrets?

Hello there!

Thank you!
