I was guessing about a multiclass build for a 'Fey' Bard, choosing Eladrin (MToF) -for the flavor and the Fey Step- as race, based on Glamour College with 2 lvl dip into Warlock Hexblade: medium armour, martial weapons -longbow- and the benefits you get from Hexblade's curse as well as the Hex spell (Imposing disadvantage on wisdom for enhancing charming possibilities?) and of course getting access to eldritch blast with Agonizing and Repelling Blast as the options for Eldritch Invocations. I'd just take 2 levels only on Warlock to not lose the Magical Secrets of lvl 18 (well if someday I get there... it seems not probably) and to not delay Bard progression that much. Of course the best of this multiclass is the SAD. From the Glamour Bard Mantle of Inspiration is fantastic and it works on almost all your party, and Mantle of Majesty sounds really nice too.
But then I realized that I was like scattering the character into many functions and I thought the idea was better to specialize on charming and buffing/debuffing. So I thought that maybe this was another good possibility: College of Lore Bard for the Cutting Words and the Additional Magical Secrets and having the Archfey Patron as Warlock. I was thinking on the following progress: Bard up to lvl 3 (to get the first college feature), then 2 lvls of Warlock and the rest continuing Bard progression. In the latter case I guessed as you get Additional Magical Secrets at char lvl 8 you won’t suffer too long waiting for the lvl 10 class same feature (I’d be getting it at char lvl 12) and for the ‘charming flavor’ Fey Presence of the Archfey could be reasonable enough. On the other hand, I wouldn’t be getting the temp hit points and relocation of Mantle of Majesty and the benefits of Hexblade curse. So I don’t know. What do you think is the better trade off among the two options? I’m not interested on a melee character (because I’ve seen on some forums about the College of Swords/Hexblade/Pact of the Blade synergy for example). I just want a charming buffing/debuffing character with range/spell options for some damage if needed (you have to save your own butt sometimes).
