When you join the College of Dance at 3rd level, no matter how high you roll in initiative you always go last in the party’s order.
The Spirit of Dance
Also at 3rd level, you’ve learned how to use your dance to energize those around you. If a player has expended their turn you can use your action to expend a use of the bardic inspiration die to give them a second action once your turn ends.
Dance Soothes The Soul
Beginning at 6 level your practiced dance that has been honed for many years is now second nature to you. All spells that are to affect another player can now be cast as a bonus action. (However, two healing spells can not be cast in one turn)
Choreography
Starting at 14th level, if multiple players are performing actions at the same time, you can cast a single bardic inspiration to affect all players.
Slightly confused on the wording, for spirit of dance, does the player take two actions on their turn or do they take their action on your ( the bard’s) turn. Also, why can’t you cast two healing spells on one turn. Also also how do multiple characters take an action on the same turn?
Mmm, seems a bit of an odd mix. After You feels more like a punishment than anything else for a class that generally has Dexterity as its 2nd or 1st highest stat (build dependent). Spirit of Dance feels like Order Domain Cleric's Voice of Authority feature, but with less restrictions in place. Choreography feels the most confusing; is it aimed purely for ability checks made out of combat? Is the bardic inspiration treated as normal or is it to be used immediately?
I see the theme, but it could use some ironing out to provide an idea that gives some sense of identity to itself while also feeling rewarding at 3rd level and at capstone. Perhaps at 3rd level, upon taking the subclass, the Bard becomes proficient in Acrobatics or Performance as a result of mastering the art of dance. Maybe instead of having the bardic inspirations be used in exchange for your action (turning you into just a buff battery or revolving door for another player), have the bardic inspiration do different affects or provide certain buffs like temporary hitpoints (of whatever measurement or formula you feel is best) to not only a target of your choosing, but to you as well as you two act as dance partners?
Food for thought, but certainly worth exploring if you want a dance-inspired bard.
