I was joining a campaign created by a friend. The starting level for characters was level 3. I had two characters with the same name one at level 3 and one at level 5. Both were multi-class with fighter/cleric. When I chose the lower level character which was level 3 the level 5 version would be the one that was in the campaign. I tried multiple times to join the campaign with the lower level character and each time it showed the level 5 character was part of the campaign.
To resolve this issue I had to delete the level 5 character.
Obviously this isn't the best situation, the level 5 character was created to plan where I wanted the character to go and having to delete him in order to join the campaign is kinda annoying.
I don't know why this glitch happens, but I know that it only happens if the character's have the same name, so just renaming 1 of the characters should fix it.
