The recent version of the character builder does not let nonstandard languages to be chosen with a 2024 species anymore, and there isn’t a real way to create a homebrew option to allow that.
This is a major issue given that it is making it impossible for characters like tieflings, aasimar, or crow to know infernal/abyssal, celestial, or under common.
I get the PHB no longer lists that DMs are allowed to let players choose a nonstandard language, but those languages are supposed to be standard for those groups in many worlds (including the forgotten realms), yet the builder no longer is allowing this. This is one of many issues that is making the builder more and more annoying to use since it started to update.
