One of my players wants to play as a changeling for our next campaign, but creating a character on DnD Beyond will show the fact that they are a changeling in the campaign tab to everyone else (even if you private the character, it still says changeling under the name). Of course they want to be sneaky about it, so is there a work around for not showing that race, and supplying another that the changeling is disguising as.
Use the homebrew editor to create a new race. Use the changeling race as a template, but rename it to whatever race they want to pretend to be. Don't change anything else. Then select that homebrew race in the character builder. The character sheet will still need to be set to private.

See pic of a temp character for reference. https://imgur.com/0rai7n7
