Trying to add Mind Thrust and Psionic Blast to a homebrew subclass. I have both in my collection but whenever I attempt to add them via 'add spells' they don't show up when I type them in. Can you just not add homebrew spells to a subclass or is this some kind of error?

In your homebrew, you can use your own homebrew spells, or official spells you purchased access to, but not anybody else's homebrew spells.
