So I'm trying to merge together a homebrewed "Greater Dragonborn" race with the new Draconic Options in the UA. It's been going slowly as there's little way to copy and edit homebrewed sections en masse. I noticed as I was checking the character builder the race I made does show up but the subraces do. Like It should be the race with the subrace under it as options but it's like I made 2-3 main races.
The homebrewed race also says it has no subraces in the creations page but I clearly have them in the homebrew itself. This has changed since I woke up to finish adding the options. I also can't assign to a main race that I homebrewed through the create a race options.
After looking at it more, It seems the Race Group option in the Subrace option of the homebrew doesn't recognize any homebrew options (not sure about variants, not there yet). I'm not sure but it might be missing a few UA options too like Fairy, Owlbear, e.t.c..
You're correct that the Race Group option won't allow homebrew options to be selected. This is currently unsupported in the homebrew builder, although it has been brought to the attention of D&D Beyond staff in the past. In the meantime, you can use a standard naming convention to group your homebrew subraces together in the character builder.

Ah I didn't know that. Thought it was an oversight. I guess nothing I can do but wait if it ever changes.
