Currently magic items are unable to add an action to a character sheet. While this functionality is certainly on the dev's radar to implement, I'm afraid there's no ETA quite yet. In the meantime, you should be able to replicate the effects of the item by creating a custom action from your character sheet.
I'm not sure why they didn't make items able to add actions from the beginning when literally everything else can (class features, racial traits, and feats). It isn't like it was added later, the first list of magic items in the game had some that gave actions. And also some that have options (also something everything else can do), there is literally a whole class of item that have a few randomly determined properties.
The tentacle rod does not show up on the actions section of the character sheet, even when it is attuned and equipt.
Bump. We are close to 3 years since the first request (in a different thread) was posted. Can we PLEASE have the Tentacle Rod added to the "Actions" section?
