I have figured out how to add spells to homebrew races, but for the life of me, I cannot add cantrips. I reverse engineered the Tiefling sheet to see what I was doing wrong, but I was doing it the right way. But the cantrip I want won't show up in the spell section when I type it, and I have refreshed several times already. I want to add Friends, just to leave that clear
If memory serves, you are unable to add non SRD/Basic Rules spells to homebrew races. Friends is not in the list of spells included in the SRD/Basic Rules.
There's no rule disallowing non-SRD/Basic spells for a homebrew race (unless you want to publish the homebrew, in which case no copyrighted content is allowed.)
However, unless you own the PHB and/or the Friends spell on DDB, then you won't be able to add it to homebrew, not even if you have it shared with you via a campaign. So your options are to purchase the spell (pretty cheap to get ala carte from the PHB in the Marketplace), or else homebrew your own version of the Friends spell to use with the race.
For clarification: You can't publish homebrew content that has non-SRD content attached to it, though you are certainly free to homebrew it privately for your collection and to share with your campaign.
As for adding friends to your homebrew race: Do you own the friends cantrip? You can only use content that you own, not any that is only being shared with you. (If you were to use shared content and then lost access to that shared content, your homebrew would break!)
I don't own the cantrip, but I homebrewed it to work around it, thanks for the idea guys! I added to my homebrew race but now it won't appear in the same vein thaumaturgy does for Tieflings though, and I reverse engineered Tiefling to see I had it set up in the same way but it does not appear
Under the racial trait that grants the cantrip, you should click Add a Spell, select your homebrewed cantrip, and set it up as follows:
If you've done exactly this already and (still at the time of reading this) have not been able to get the cantrip to appear on your character, could you post a link to the homebrew? Both your cantrip and the race. A forum mod can have a look and determine whether anything is amiss.
Keep in mind that homebrew edits can take 15-20 minutes to populate on a character sheet due to caching. You might also try bumping the level of the character up and back down to force a re-fetch of the character data!
Sorry for the late reply!! I was at work, and it works now! Leveling up the character and then pushing it back down did the trip, thank you so so much! You helped me a ton and I really appreciate it

Can somebody help me?
Hello there TheDepressedPlat,

I haven't heard of these rules before, why isn't it there?

Edit: We did a serious JINX there, Halfwing! XD

I have no idea of what is going on now
