On the character sheet it appears in the spell list as if it can be upcast on a Divine Soul Sorcerer (Neutral) that I built. Obviously this spell can't be upcast, so it looks like some sort of bug.
Any spell can be cast using higher level spell slots (upcast), but not all spells give you any added benefit for that. Protection from Evil and Good is one such spell
This is true, it's like Shield for example, but Shield only appears once on the spell list whereas Protection appears at each level, as if it can be upcast.

This seems to be affecting all sorcerer subclass spells (those granted automatically). I'll pass it along to the team!
