On one of my homebrew magic items that gives characters spells, those granted spells do not have the option to customize in the character sheet and thus there is no box to click for "Display as Attack". Is this feature currently unavailable or am I missing something?

Yeah, that's not an available feature for spells granted by magic items. You can customize spells granted by Feats, though.
