If this is in the wrong place, I'll delete it if asked. Anyway, my issue is my DM wants us to make Custom Sidekicks with Tasha's premade as the Template. I tried to Homebrew one using one of the Sidekick Stat Blocks as a Template, but even though he is sharing his Content with me since I'm in his Campaign I can't seem to use the Tasha's Premade Sidekicks as a Template. Do I have to buy the book myself or is there a step I'm missing that I need to take to access the Sidekicks for a Homebrew Template?
Unfortunately, you can only make homebrew based off content you own, not just shared. Your DM may not be aware of that, and you'll need to let them know.
What your DM could do is either homebrew the sidekick for you, or else create a homebrew copy for reference and then use that to help you through creating your own homebrew sidekick from scratch. (You wouldn't be able to use your DM's homebrew as a template either...)

Sorry it's not that simple :/

OK, so I would need to buy Tasha's to use the Template. That's what I thought. OK, thank you.
