One of the players in my campaign asked me why they only have a +1 to attack with their longsword. They are a fighter, so they're proficient with the weapon. The only weapon that shows up in their inventory as being proficient is their crossbow. Here is their character sheet for reference: link
I've tried removing the item from their inventory. I've also moved it from "Equipment" to "Backpack" and vise versa, and even tried unequiping it and re-equiping it. Battleaxe shows up without their proficiency modifier as well...
Their Strength is -1 and Longswords use Strength because they are melee weapons that don't have finesse. They have +1 to hit because it is including their proficiency and -1 on damage because damage does not include proficiency.
The crossbow has higher to hit and damage rolls because it uses Dexterity as a ranged weapon and their Dexterity modifier is +2.
