I am currently making a homebrew race that can hide as a bonus action (similarly to Cunning Action for Rouges) but cannot seem to figure out how to do so. I am not complaining, just a bit confused. I would appreciate any assistance anyone could offer on this subject.
The Goblin race has about what you're looking for in their Nimble Escape trait.
For your own race, add a Racial Trait like "Sneaky" with the description "You can take the Hide action as a bonus action on each of your turns.", and add an Action to that Trait by the same name. Use Action Type "General", set the Activation Type to "Bonus Action" (very important, otherwise it won't show on the Actions tab), and have the Snippet field say the same thing as the trait description.
