I created an item based off the Hand Crossbow weapon and gave it a Bonus Armor Class of 2. My player then added the item to their character sheet, equipped it, and it works as expected. Hey sorry, I did not see this response until way later. The player has since deleted that character because our campaign has ended. I have yet to utilize the item again but if I do and notice the issue I will respond here with the character link. Thanks for the response!
