I always right click the image and open in new tab. Then in the new tab and save image. That’s how you get the high quality images for the maps in adventures. Not sure how it works with the monster images.

That is odd, where did you get that link? Maybe they just fixed it. Because both from monster list page and description I get this one even from the compendium I get the same image.

From the monster list page: https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/kraken-priest. I've even tried different browsers and replicated the same result. The compendium image is the correctly sized one for me.
That is really odd, right now as I followed your link I got the low res image. I swear I was on the same page when I posted before bet getting the high res image.
I can think in two possibilities, maybe it was indeed fixed but it is not updated on all server nodes so we get randomly each result. Or it is some kind of bug related with a dynamic link builder. Because even the low and high res image have the same name (the high has 1000 on path and the low 350). This can really be a bug.
They all used to have the proper, full-sized images. I'm under the impression this began affecting a lot of entries due to some necessary changes for the mobile version of D&D Beyond.
We've flagged this and hopefully we can get a resolution to the image resolutions.
Cleared cache, browsing history, etc.. and it does not show up correctly in Chrome. Using a different browser shows the correct link, not sure what is going wrong on my end. This used to show up correctly for me.
Alrighty, apparently we have an inconsistent error. I was seeing low res/tiny images myself up until very recently, but continue to see the correct images throughout the last couple of days.
The image for the Kraken Priest appears to have a very low resolution. The same image is available elsewhere online at a higher quality: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5247089ae4b03b8157cb3a49/54b2cb5ae4b055a31e5ac313/59852422d7bdce820bb49e80/1507432526179/312853KrakenPriestFinalLRES.jpg?format=300w
Saving both those images and checking the resolution the dndbeyond shows 96 DPI and the one you linked shows 100 DPI.
Both seem pretty similar to me. Dndbeyond left, your link right.

Update: I found the cause of the problem (yay for being a web developer!), but a moderator or Curse employee would need to fix it. The links for "full image" and "view high resolution image" are pointed to https://media-waterdeep.cursecdn.com/avatars/thumbnails/9/856/315/315/636332918110062788.jpeg whereas they should be pointed to https://media-waterdeep.cursecdn.com/avatars/thumbnails/9/856/1000/1000/636332918110062788.jpeg.
This is an issue for several entries in the compendium.

Good news everybody, this appears to have had a stealth fix! (At least for me.)
Is this working for everyone else? Let us know and we'll happily mark this thread as resolved.

Update - Mine has now started showing the correct link/image.
Still low res for me even after cache clear/incognito mode. The odd part is that 4h ago was high for me.

I am having this issue though I didn't last week. Tried with multiple browsers and cleared cache. Still getting links to tiny pictures.
Mine has now started showing the low res version again.

Stay tuned.
