Character Sheet. Extras. (Pets, Familiars, Summons, Wild Shapes, etc.) I opened "Customize". the "Name" field was blank. Despite the name still displaying, (from the creature being added to the sheet, originally). Click anywhere, and the name becomes blank. (because the name field is blank.) No way to undo. I can enter new info in the "Name" field. but if i erase it, there is no baseline name. And now It's stuck with an asterisk due to the customization. (*). It's distracting.
This is repeatable. I know, because I opened another companion, and clicked "Customize". And the same thing happened.
Normally, any text entered in the "Name" field merely overrides the baseline name. But if you clear the field, the base name returns. Normally.
I can confirm that this issue happens: in Extras, removing the contents of a creature's Name field when it's been customized to have one causes it to turn into a blank asterisk, not the base Creature name.
It's a bug that definitely needs correcting, but at the least Remove Customizations will "fix" the problem for a particular creature, though it also clears out any other customizations you may have made (HP, AC, creature type...)

Indeed. But to add to that: 1 pet was renamed from the base creature. 1 pet was not renamed. It was the name of the creature.
But both became blank, because the custom "Name" field was blank.
Ahh, yes, I've done some more testing. If you have an uncustomized creature, and click one of the selection boxes (e.g. to make your familiar a Fey), then it doesn't affect the Name field.
But if, in an uncustomized creature, you click in any of the text fields (Name, Notes, "Enter Source Note...", that very instant the creature's name/basename goes blank.
Or, no, wait, it's a matter of when you open Customize, the focus is in the Name field. If you click anywhere else in the Customize area, or hit Tab to go to another field, the basename disappears. And it doesn't even count as Customized! You need to actually change a field in order for Remove Customization button to be accessible.
They also do a thing where if you set a selection (e.g. Type: Fey), then change it back to --, the Remove Customization button goes away again but the basename is still blank.
Yeah... seems like a UI change that was too clever by half, or forgot about how a blank Name in Customize should show the basename instead...
Edit: Right. In any case, if you click Remove Customization button (and confirm), then make changes to other fields and NEVER click in the Name field, the basename displays correctly. Woof. So long as you make those changes without unexpanding Customize or doing anything else that would require you to expand Customize again to make changes.
