I am frustrated that the character builder does not automatically add the notes to the character sheet .pdf regarding class features/ racial traits and such, but when you add to the pdf after the fact and it is still hit and miss weather or not the notes you add actually print out is actually frustrating. I don't own a printer and usually just save the file to a thumb drive and have Fed-Ex print the sheet out on a game night, so finding out at the last minute that half of my notes didn't print is irritating!
The PDF export function will see a huge improvement when the character sheet revamp will be live.
That has been the story for about 4 months now, when will this happen?
"It'll come out when it's ready": this is one of the best thing a developer can tell you, as it implies the will for the them to not rush a half-assed thing that will then be disappointing and need endless tweaks and patches.
They always said the .pdf export was basically an afterthought, something that was not initially planned and included at the last moment due to popular demand (and probably some push from WotC itself). They did not deliver on that at the time, they recognised that and they will improve on it in the revamp.
When is the revamp coming? when it's ready, if you want a fillable sheet to then print, there are plenty of options to use while we wait. I'd like to stress once more that DDB never promised to provide "amazingly detailed .pdf export of your character from the get-go", they have always been very clear at and before launch that DDB is primarily a digital environment.

I am still upset that in June of last year we had a character builder that worked flawlessly, and I did not need to have a screen at the table to look up a character detail. I never wanted to be involved in this digital environment you sucked me in with the destruction of the old character builder. I have paid a nice sum of money to have access to all of the reference books while using your builder, but it does not work! Even when I spend the time to add the details into the pdf it disappears when printed, and that is the maddening part.

Not sure what are you complaining about. What previous character builder?
The DDB character builder works fine, it is the PDF export function which is flawed.

One would assume they're talking about OrcPub or a similarly unsanctioned use of copyrighted material *sighs*

Your builder works fine but it is too easy to make a character that is not adventure league ready. It often requires a second set of eyes to look things over for that missed third sourcebook issue since you are only allowed PHB + one other book

It has been already stated several times by the mods and the staff that AL support is coming, probably some time this summer (timeframe mine, speculation based on the available info).
The delay, according to a BadEye post from some time ago, is due to changes coming to AL from WotC, and therefore the "on-hold" on the support integration until such changes are made public by WotC itself.

It is not a story, it is actual development. You can see some peeks in the last Monthy Developer Update.
The staff doesn't have a date to share, but it is not that far away.
