If you move at least 10 feet in a straight line immediately before taking this bonus action, you either gain a +5 bonus to the attack’s damage roll (if you chose to make a melee attack and hit) or push the target up to 10 feet away from you (if you chose to shove and you succeed).
But if you add it to your character sheet, it says the following:
...you can choose between making one melee attack (adding a +5 bonus to the attack’s damage roll and hit) or push the target up to 10 ft. away from you (if you chose to shove and succeeded).
This implies that you get a +5 to the attack roll and the damage roll, instead of just the damage roll. Perhaps it was meant to be "on a hit"? One of my players was very confused over it.
