I think there is a bug here. When I use the dueling fighting style from paladin, I am receiving a damage bonus (+2) for my lomgswords (both of them).
i have selected one of them to be my Dual Wielding weapon. Though my off hand weapon does not receive a bonus from my strength (which is intended since I did. It get the TWF fighting style)
I dont know if this was adressed until now... but i get the same as you, double checked the rules and the +2 on the dual Wield weapon still there. Even if we put both weapons for dual wield they still get the +2 from dueling fighting style but it corrects the modifier bonus and dont aply on any weapon.
As far as i testes if we equip a dual handed the fighting style is not added, i think there is no check / tag for "are both hands using weapons" even wtih the off hand equip button to present the extra attack as bonus action and removing the modifier bonus. It dosent take in consideration the removing of dueling fight style even if it is obvious that you can attack with a second weapon you are not "holding only one weapon" as this fighting style requires.
Ez fiz is just take in consideration removing -2 if you character will dual wild with something else, or as i prefer (kinda need more work tho) duplicate the weapon remove -2 and edit the names to: "with fighting style / one weapon on one hand only" & "dual wielding with a sharp friend".

Yeah. But the character sheet on DnD beyond says you can benefit from Dueling even when Dual Wielding.. I know the rules.
