Now that D&D Beyond is owned by WOC, can we purchase the hard copy of a book and get access to the digital version? Is there a package currently or planned to allow this?
So far, still only the sealed essentials kit has any digital redeemables. Physical books released until now haven't had any unique identifiers to prove you bought/own a physical book.
There have not been any announcements of this changing in the future. It will require putting infrastructure in place that costs time and money. And if it is expected to boost sales, they won't do it.
Given the previous excuses: "Unfortunately, there is not a way to unlock the digital content if you have purchased the books." and "Basically, this Website is owned by the company Fandom, whereas the brand Dungeons and Dragons is owned by Wizards of the Coast. D&D Beyond is essentially a ‘digital bookstore’ that sells the ‘books’ in electronical form on behalf of Wizards of the Coast." Purchasing the hardcover from DnD Beyond or WOC could include a key - which is already a preocess setup on DnDB. Continuing to expect purchases of one or the other..or both would be an unrealistic expectation.

Expecting a purchase is entirely reasonable, and it's up to the consumer as to whether or not they will choose one or the other, or both.
You will still have to purchase one to get the redeemable key to the other, if that's a route taken.
