Do you own The Wild Beyond The Witchlight, or is it shared with you by the DM of your D&D Beyond Campaign. You can't use official content as a template if you don't own the sourcebook yourself. I know this from experience.

I can confirm that there isn't a selectable "Fairy" Race Group for homebrew races. There isn't one for Haregon, either. Perhaps they'll be adding them when the new Monsters of the Multiverse comes out?
Edit: Noting that Changeling also lacks a Race Group.

Same. Possibly an oversight? My warforged variant didn't merge into the race group anyway, so...
Huh, yeah, I just tested a homebrew race and you're right, it doesn't merge into Warforged. Testing other Race Groups to see if they're similarly broken.
I also noticed that Changeling doesn't have a Race Group either.

Hi, my name is Sparketh and I'm an addict.
I own all of the books :)
Edit: Also, the difficulty isn't replicating the fairy, it's relating the variant to the original. As others mentioned, this was likely an oversight when implementing the book since Haregon is also missing.
When creating a custom race, fairy does not appear under the dropdown list, even when creating a fairy variant.
