I have an Armorer Artificer utilizing Cast-Off Armor on Plate that is already in my inventory. When I select to use the Infusion for Cast-Off Armor, it only lists "new items" and not "available items." I don't need two plate armors listed in my inventory, just the one I already have. It also won't list any of the armors (which I have a lot, for parts) as options for the infusion. In the other infusions I have, it will allow me to select applicable items to infuse already in my inventory. Is this just how Replicate Magic Item Infusions work or is this something that can be changed in a future update?
Using this infusion, you replicate a particular magic item. You can learn this infusion multiple times; each time you do so, choose a magic item that you can make with it, picking from the Replicable Items tables below. A table's title tells you the level you must be in the class to choose an item from the table.
You replicate an item meaning you create one, this infusion is not meant to be applies to already made items.
Huh...somehow that never dawned on me. I guess in my mind it makes more sense that the artificer is enhancing an item to replicate the effect of a magic item. Oh well, I'll work with the DM on that one.
There are specific infusions that replicate magic items, and there are other ones that add bonuses to existing items like enhance defense and replicating shot

So… can I make cast off plate armor just like that? That seems a bit op
