When I create characters or edit the ones I've made I can't get Dmir Operative to show up in the background drop down list. I have everything enabled but it won't show up.
If you mean what's the point of sharing books, sharing works with a given campaign, so people in that campaign don't have to buy things in order to play. If you want to use shared stuff for a character not in that campaign, you have to move the character sheet into the campaign with content sharing turned on, make your changes, and then you can move it out again and the changes will stick, until you remove them (so, it's not too bad for backgrounds, but if you were to try and use some spells this way, and then swapped them out, you couldn't get them back again without rejoining the campaign).

Apparently I couldn't use it cause the book was shared with me through a campaign and I didn't own it myself. Buying the book fixed the issue.
But that brings up another problem. What's the point of charging books if I can't use the info in the character builder?
